| Setup Instructions for the New Jersey Affidavit of Service |
In PST version 5.5k Database Services added the ability to generate the New Jersey Affidavit from Process Server's Toolbox. Follow these simple instructions to begin using this new feature.
In order for Process Server's Toolbox to generate the New Jersey affidavit of service, certain criteria must be met.
To set the "New Jersey Equivalent" option on a specific Type of Service, you must edit that particular Type of Service. Select "Setup>Affidavits>Type of Service"
If you already have the Type of Service added, select the Type of Service & click "Accept" to edit that Type of Service. For this example we will use "Substitute Residential". (click "Accept" on your Type of Service for "Substitute Residential")
At the bottom of the Type of Service setup window there will be a drop down list titled "New Jersey Equivalent". This is where you tell PST to use the New Jersey verbiage for when a paper is substitute served at the subject's residence. In this case, choose "Substitute Residential". You also have to tell PST if the "Service Status" is considered "Served" or "Not Served". In this case, choose "Served" & click "Accept" (click here to see an example). Repeat this process for each "New Jersey Equivalent" option. (Note: If the Type of Service does not exist for a specific "New Jersey Equivalent" option, then you may add that Type of Service to your database. Click Here for instructions on adding a new Type of Service)
When ALL of the criteria is met, PST will ignore the text typed into that specific Type of Service & replace it with the verbiage set for the New Jersey affidavit.
