Process Server's Toolbox - Online Help Tool - Type of Service Editor

After you upgrade, Process Server's Toolbox will have several NEW types of service. However, you may have a type of service that we did not include with the upgrade. DO NOT make changes to your existing types of service; it will cause several problems with the old jobs that you have used this type of service on. This Help Tool topic will walk you through copying/pasting/converting one of your old "Fill-In-The-Blank" types of service to the new & improved type of service, which uses fields from the database. These fields can be used to trade information with other process servers, attorneys, and forwarding agencies.

To begin, go to "Setup>Affidavits>Type of Service".
Select the Type of Service that you want to copy & click "Accept" (note: In this example we are going to use the OLD "Substitute (Business Office)" Type of Service).

Now, highlight all of the text in the "Template" (note: you can click once anywhere in the template, then hold down the "Ctrl" key & press the "a" key on your keyboard).

Type the "Title" of your new Type of Service (note: After the upgrade, the new types of service begin with a period. This new type of service that you are setting up, should also start with a period. This will keep all the "new" types of service separated from the "old" types of service.

Now right-click anywhere in the "Template" & click "Paste". This should paste the text from the previous type of service, to this new type of service.

Now we can change the "FILL_IN_THE_BLANK_1" field, to an actual meaningful field from the database.

Delete the text for "<<FILL_IN_THE_BLANK_1>>". Highlight the appropriate field from the "Fields List", then click "insert".

If you see "<<FILL_IN_THE_BLANK_2>>", "<<FILL_IN_THE_BLANK_3>>", repeat the process.

Note: If you want any text, including the Fields you insert, to print in Bold, Italics or Underlined text, use the buttons to the right. For more help with understanding how the Type Service Editor Works, please read Type Service Editor help section.
